Complying Development Certificates
Our experienced team can provide advice and help you navigate exempt or complying development standards to help you achieve a fast building approval.
A complying development certificate is an alternative to a development application and is considered a fast-tracked approval process for straightforward residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
These certificates are issued if a proposed development complies with relevant planning and building controls under the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
Accredited certifiers and councils can issue complying development certificates. The certificate must be obtained before any building work commences, including site works such as demolition and excavation.
Dix Gardner can issue these certificates and help fast-track the process.
We understand the importance of time management in construction and our goal is to provide fast, reliable service to keep the building schedule moving.
Our Grade 1 Certifiers can assess building plans and provide recommendations regarding compliance with Building Codes of Australia regulations. We want to make the process fast but reliable and our attention to detail will ensure a smooth complying development application.
Dix Gardner can also identify exempt developments which don’t need approval from the council. These projects are minor renovations and low-impact works, such as:
- Balconies, decks, patios, pergolas, terraces and verandas
- Changing the use of a building
- Earthworks and retaining works
- Temporary uses and structures
- Waterway structures
Whether the development requires a complying development certificate or fits in as an exempt development, we recommend consulting the council or a private certifier before finalising plans to build.
We can guide you through compliance regulations and achieve approval for your development.
